LAHSO Power & Control Unit (CPU)

To enhance the safety of land and hold short operations a LAHSO system is required under certain circumstances.

The brightness level of the flashing inset lights is determined by the power and control unit (PCU).

LAHSO Inset Lights

The system includes six high intensity, synchronised flashing, unidirectional inset lights. Each light houses a primary lamp and a back-up lamp.

During daylight the light flash at maximum brightness. At night, the intensity is varied dependent on the brightness setting of the airport runway edge lights.
